Water – perhaps the most important element of life. It is a well-known fact that without water everything would cease to exist. Apart from the fact that up to 60% of the human body is made of water, there are many other uses of water which include agricultural, industrial, household use and more. All of these require fresh water. One interesting fact that may seem as a shock for most and one of the leading reasons that United Global Water (UGW) was founded is that only 2.5% of the water on Earth is fresh, and over two-thirds of this is frozen in glaciers and polar ice caps.
The demand for water is exceeding its supply in many parts of the world. In the near future more areas will suffer from a shortage of water. The change in climate is playing a vital role on water resources because the climate and the hydrologic cycle are tightly linked. The human population which is constantly expanding will create an even greater competition for water which will result in the major aquifers being drained. Moreover, there are several pollutants which currently threaten the water supplies although by far the most dominant pollutant is the discharge of raw sewage into natural waters.
In spite of these complications one can appreciate how important it is to purify water and make the product safe for human use (potable). Here at UGW we aim to tackle many of the problems mentioned above by supplying mineral, artesian, spring and prepared water. We currently own and operate several spring and artesian water sources. Using unique technology for water purification, which UGW develops or sponsors, allows us to end up with a pure product which proves safe for human use through a series of scientific quality tests. Shortly we will be operating two distinct types of facilities which will apply our technologies and treat water from oil producing and oil service industries. To address the areas which are currently suffering from water shortage, we are in the process of building a water distribution and export business to regions in need of high-quality mineral water.
UGW, being financed by Hess Group International (HGI) a company which among other sectors greatly deals with sustainable resources and recycling, aims to protect our environment by using resources in a responsible way while preserving the surrounding natural environment. Apart from environmental benefits it would make it much easier for companies worldwide if they were able to properly manage their own wastewater using cutting edge technologies.
In order to avoid all the possible disasters that may happen in this world, it is essential to start treating water as a scarce resource. Water treatment technology is increasing in importance not only to individuals but also for businesses which are looking for ways to manage their wastewater. One of our goals is to use our state-of-the-art water treatment technology to manage wastewaters of companies and purify it, making it potable and accessible to people worldwide.
